“The goal of therapy should never be to help people adjust to oppression." -Carmen Cool |
Many clients are in therapy to work on healing trauma, establish healthy boundaries, learn how to cope with strong emotions, or manage the complex relationships. As a counselor with a trauma focus, I work to provide a safe and secure environment to establish trust and honesty in therapy. I enjoy working with clients managing life transitions, especially women ages 18-35 years old, with a focus on the college population and early work/life stages. I center my work with a trauma lens, assisting people processing abuse, difficult parent relationships, chronic illness, and healing. I also utilize a social justice framework in therapy, as I feel it is an important lens for true compassion.
